Happy 4th of July!

Ready for the Fourth? Don’t worry if you still haven’t finalized your celebratory plans, Clay is here to give you the lowdown on where you can celebrate this week. Every community has an event planned to ensure that everyone can have a safe and festive holiday, and we want to make sure you know where to find them!

1. July 3rd, Liberty Fourth Fest

From 6:00 to 9:00 the Fountain Bluff Sports Complex in Liberty will come alive with festive and fun family friendly activities. Enjoy a DJ, inflatables, face painting and glitter tattoo artists, balloon animals, fishing in stocked ponds, virtual reality party trailers, lawn games, and more! A beer garden will be available from 6:00-10:00. At 7:30 there will be a Veterans Celebration. From 8:00-10:00 Lost Wax will perform live

2. July 3rd, Kearney Annual Fireworks Celebration

Starting at 4:30, the Kearney Amphitheatre will become the place to celebrate the Fourth of July with your family! The event is free to attend and features endless fun and live music performed by Switch. Featured activities include free inflatables and air toys for kids from 4:30 to 8:30. Free cotton candy at the amphitheater and playground. A live concert at 7:30 and fireworks music on 96.9 FM. One night only camping is even available for $20 (reservations are required). Concessions will be available for sale; make sure you bring your own lawn chairs and blankets! The fireworks are scheduled to start at 9:30, though it’s recommended you arrive early to find the perfect spot!

3. July 4th, Gladstone Fireworks

The annual Independence Day Celebration at Oak Grove Park is free and perfect for the whole family to attend. As always, live music will be performed leading up to the fireworks display at nightfall, 9:00-9:30! Make sure you bring you own blankets, chairs, and snacks! And arrive early enough to find yourself a good spot—the fireworks are set off so that you’ll want a good view of the amphitheater, they’re usually just behind it!

4. July 4th, Smithville Lake Fireworks

For a unique lakeside experience this Independence Day, check out Smithville’s annual fireworks display at Smithville Lake! The fireworks are set off at the dam and there are several locations recommended to view these fireworks from. Suggested locations include: North end of Smithville dam, Little Platte Park, Paradise Pointe Marina parking lot, and Smith’s Fork Park. If you are able, the absolute best way to view this display is by water; so if you have a boat on which to safely enjoy the show, make sure to take advantage of it! Remember, several of the park locations at which you can view the fireworks do charge a $5 entry fee. The fireworks will start at nightfall, between 9:00 and 9:30.

5. July 4th, Worlds of Fun July 4th Celebration

Want to add some extra excitement to your 4th of July festivities? Then plan on spending the day at Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun!
