The Iron District

The Iron District is a new and experimental retail park made up completely out of shipping containers. With 18 shipping containers in all and short term leases for vendors, this is the perfect place for start-ups to settle and test their menu and wares! Currently the Iron District offers numerous unique eateries, delicious ice cream from Ice Cream Bae, four retailers, a bar, and a stage for live music! You’ll love the atmosphere of this new addition in North Kansas City.

Penguin Park

Penguin Park has been a local favorite since 1965, but not very many people outside of the area know about this wonderful and memorable park. Featuring larger than life sculptures of animals as well as state-of-the-art playground equipment for all ages, your family will love visiting this park. Penguin Park has recently been updated with new play equiptment and handicap accessable swingsets.

Linden Kites

This part of the Northland has flourished in the past couple of years. With this new influx of business and people, the city of Gladstone has put lots of wonderful effort into making the city look and feel welcoming. Down the street from Linden Square; where you can catch festivals, live music, and other activities; there are 2 installations of stained glass kites that give the street a fun and playful feeling. Up the street from these two kites stands a clock tower just like the one featured on the banners around town.

Kearney Escape Room

Stowed away inside the Radiant Life Church is Kearney, Missouri’s one and only Kearney Escape Room. Perfect for families and friends, the escape room offers a thrilling adventure that is totally free to enjoy (though donations are encouraged). There are two escape rooms to choose from; the 3 Room Experience and the Jesse James Room. The 3 Room Experience requires you and your team to break in and out of three rooms in order to diffuse the bomb in time; your team has 60 minutes to complete the room. The Jesse James Room challenges your team to find Jesse’s treasure map to the Lost Robber’s Cave before your time is up; you have 60 minutes to complete this room. Both rooms are considered difficult to solve, which makes it the perfect opportunity to put your friends and family to the test! Group sizes between 2-8 people are reccomended for both of these rooms.

Named for the owner’s sister who lost her fight with cancer, Nellie’s staff are a part of almost every activity that happens in Smithville as well as being a huge advocate for breast cancer awareness.
